Reasoning for tricky problems
Use reasoning mode for maths, logic and complex analysis. The standard model is enough for the rest and is faster.
Use custom instructions
Set your preferences once, and ChatGPT will answer to suit the context by itself instead of you explaining them every time.
Assign roles
“You are an experienced marketing expert ...” gives noticeably better results than a generic question without context.

Is ChatGPT Plus worth it?
If you use ChatGPT every day: yes. The flagship model plus image generation and reasoning mode are worth the price.
Is my privacy protected?
On personal accounts, OpenAI can use your chats by default to improve its models. You can switch this off in the settings under “Data controls” (opt-out, applies to new chats). With Business and Enterprise, your data is not used for training, according to OpenAI. For sensitive data we recommend a Business plan or at least a personal account with training switched off, and not entering confidential company data there.
ChatGPT vs. Claude – which is better?
ChatGPT is more versatile, with image generation and the larger ecosystem. Claude is more precise with code, long documents and autonomous agents. Many people use both, depending on the task.
