Software Intelligence
stays out of the way.
For us, software intelligence means software that understands the context in which it is used. We develop applications, interfaces and digital processes that run every day, don’t make workflows more complicated and are still maintainable years from now. Built between Hamburg and Crete, with over 40 years of experience.

Ada Lovelace saw something in a calculating machine that others did not yet see: a universal machine that could process not only numbers but, in principle, any other content that can be represented symbolically. What is truly remarkable is therefore not her algorithm. It is her imagination. Almost two centuries later, AI gives us such a moment again: the most exciting question is not what a machine can do today. It is what we can imagine it will do tomorrow.
Software intelligence sounds at first as if we wanted to make software sound more human than it is. That is not what we are after.
Nor do we simply mean software with an especially large number of functions. And, honestly, not automatically software with AI inside, either.
What we mean is more down-to-earth. Good software understands the context in which it is used. It fits a process instead of making it needlessly more complicated. It connects systems that in companies rarely sit neatly side by side. It stays maintainable even when the project is no longer new and exciting. And it doesn’t get people to adapt to its design flaw.
That sounds obvious. But it isn’t.
Far too much software looks tidy on a slide and then falls apart in daily life into workarounds, Excel exports, double entries and friendly notes that this one special case unfortunately wasn’t foreseen.
That is where the real work begins for us. Not with the nice stack, but with the question of how a system behaves in reality.
Our experience from customer projects and our own products has taught us a fairly simple lesson: the best software is usually not the most conspicuous. It is the one that keeps a workflow running reliably, doesn’t slow people down and can still be sensibly developed further in two or five years.

Our technology stack is not a creed. It is the result of a simple rule: we take the tool that solves the task cleanly and doesn’t come back to bite us a year later.
A few principles follow from it that sound much less spectacular than some tech presentations but are usually more important in projects.
We build for people and their work first, not for architecture diagrams. We prefer robust technology over fashionable. We write code so that you can still touch it later without quietly quitting inside. We try out new things where they bring a real advantage, not just a pretty slide. And we work so transparently that customers can not only see what we build but also understand why.
Perhaps this is, in the end, the least showy part of software intelligence. But probably also the most useful.
