AEO Pro

The WordPress plugin that prepares a website for ChatGPT, Perplexity and the like on top of classic SEO, and honestly tells you what actually works.

Why classic SEO misses AI search

When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a recommendation, the AI does not read rankings – it reads content and quotes whatever works as an answer. Good classic SEO remains the foundation for that. But classic SEO tools optimise for Google snippets and click rates and say nothing about whether a page ends up in an AI answer at all, whether it is cited as a trustworthy source or whether a language model can read the content cleanly from a technical point of view.

AEO Pro closes exactly this gap, right in the WordPress backend: an AEO score per page (AEO Pro's own heuristic, not an industry standard), structured data (Schema.org) for machine readability, an llms.txt generator, E-E-A-T profiles for author trustworthiness, a crawler log that shows which AI bots actually come by, plus a content audit and quick-win suggestions that say concretely what a page is missing.

The plugin is aimed at WordPress site owners, agencies and content teams who do not want to guess but to see from concrete, traceable criteria whether their content is ready for AI.

For context: no plugin can guarantee placement or citation in AI answers, and the AEO score predicts how readable a page is technically and in content, not whether it will be cited. The llms.txt is a voluntary proposal, not a requirement and not a confirmed ranking signal. For the AI features of Google Search, Google's documentation says neither new machine-readable files nor special markup are needed; whether other providers evaluate such signals is not proven.

Features

  • AEO score per page (own heuristic) with concrete suggestions for improvement
  • Schema.org markup (basic to extended)
  • llms.txt generator (voluntary proposal, not a requirement)
  • Crawler log: which AI bots really access your site
  • Bot management via robots.txt and user-agent blocking
  • E-E-A-T profiles for authors and entities
  • Content audit with prioritisation, bulk analyser for many pages
  • Multilingual, PDF export of the audits

There is one thing we deliberately point out here, because it shows how we work: earlier versions contained an “AI-Policy badge” and an “AI training opt-out” switch. Both were removed again with version 5.2.2 – no relevant AI crawler (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Meta) respects such signals in 2026, and they would only have faked protection that does not exist. What actually works, and therefore stays: robots.txt control and real bot blocking at server level.
